UFC 100 pencilled in for July 4th, EVERY title on the line!
Almost sure to be the Biggest Sports Event of the last 20 years, UFC 100 is almost upon us.
UFC 100 is sure to be an incredible, action packed event.
Apparently the UFC have a major ace up their sleeve for their "100th" show. The real 100th show was actually UFC 78, but who's counting anyway?
According to mmabay.co.uk, the UFC has named July 4th (Independence Day for all the American readers) the date and Las Vegas the location for the night of champions. All of the belts will be on the line in what may prove to be the most anticipated/highest grossing MMA card of all time.
Now there are a lot of things that can factor into this: Suspensions from injuries being the main thing. Will we not see any title fights in the months leading up to this event to ensure that everything goes to plan? Honestly, I don't think it would matter much anyway if there were no title fights. There are plenty of non-championship stars in each weight class to put on quality cards all year long.
Whatever the case may be, bravo UFC if you can pull this one off.
The main card would be 5 title fights, I can just imagine the stars they will have on the undercard. If this does actually happen, which is a huge longshot...I would love to see the undercard fights on PPV as well. Or the undercard on Spike, then main card on PPV.

While we still have some great UFC cards to look forward to - UFC 90: Silva v. Cote, UFC 91: Couture v. Lesnar, and BJ Penn v. Georges St.-Pierre expected to take place sometime around the Super Bowl (and, yes, UFC 89, but that's irrelevant in comparison) - rumors are starting to swirl around UFC 100. And these rumors are HUGE!
Mmabay has learned from a source working close with the UFC that an extra special event is being planned for their 100th show, which has been lined up for July 4th weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Speaking to a contact, that we can not divulge, the UFC are planning the blockbuster event to take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and could involve EVERY UFC title belt in a night of the champions.
With the likes of B.J. Penn, George St. Pierre and Anderson Silva currently dominating their respective weight classes it is more than likely that such superstars could make the truly historical card.
